Procedure Overview

The method is based on a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The SEMantibody has been coated in the plate wells. During the analysis, sample isadded along with the SEM-horseradish peroxidase (SEM-HRP) conjugate. If the SEMresidue is present in the sample, it will compete for the SEM antibody, therebypreventing the SEM-HRP from binding to the antibody attached to the well. The resultingcolor intensity, after addition of the HRP substrate (TMB), has an inverserelationship with the SEM residue concentration in the sample.
