Procedure Overview

The method is based on a competitive colorimetric ELISAassay. The trifluralin conjugate has been coated in the plate wells. During theanalysis, a sample is added along with the primary antibody specific fortrifluralin. If the target is present inthe sample, it will compete for the antibody, thereby preventingthe antibody from binding to the trifluralin attached to the wells. Thesecondary antibody, tagged with a peroxidase enzyme, targets the primaryantibody associated with the trifluralin coated on the plate wells. Theresulting color intensity, after addition of substrate, has an inverserelationship with the target concentration in the sample.
