Procedure Overview

The method is based on a competitive colorimetric ELISA assay. The DONantibody has been coated in the plate wells. During the analysis, sample isadded along with the DON-horseradish peroxidase (DON-HRP) conjugate. If the DONresidue is present in the sample, it will compete for the DON antibody, therebypreventing the DON-HRP from binding to the antibody attached to the well. Theresulting color intensity, after addition of the HRP substrate (TMB), has aninverse relationship with the DON residue concentration in the sample.
